The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has launched 2,882 criminal proceedings related to russia's war against Ukraine.
The head of the SSU Ivan Bakanov said.
"29 criminal proceedings have already been sent to court. 1,694 cases can be singled out from the general array, launched specifically for violation of the laws and customs of war, ie under Article 438 of the Criminal Code," Bakanov said.
According to the head of the SSU, most episodes are criminal proceedings against crimes of russian invaders in Bucha, Mariupol and the Kharkiv region.
The Security Service is currently documenting the facts of the mass extermination of residents of Bucha, Irpin, Hostomel, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Mariupol, Mykolayiv and other settlements.
"The crimes of the occupiers are characterized by the ill-treatment of civilians, torture and premeditated killings, the use of prohibited means, the shelling and destruction of civilian and critical infrastructure, etc," the SSU stressed.
The security service has already reported the suspicion of 900 people, including 627 russian citizens: russian top officials, a number of State Duma deputies, propagandists, cultural figures, as well as 219 military and three detained enemy pilots who bombed Kharkiv, Balakleya, Kupyansk, Izyum and Konotop.
As reported earlier, the SSU detained the godfather of Putin's child Viktor Medvedchuk, and earlier reported about suspicion to the deputy of the City Council of Mariupol from Opposition Platform — For Life whom, occupiers declared "the mayor".
