The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, appealed to Russia to allow Mariupol residents to leave the city. He wrote about this on his Twitter account.
"In Mariupol, the situation is only getting worse. Tens of thousands of civilians are trapped. I once again call on Russia to respect international humanitarian law, allow residents to leave the city, and let the humanitarian aid in," - Macron wrote.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, invited Macron to visit Ukraine so that he could see the atrocities of the russian military and understand that this is not just a war but a genocide of the Ukrainian people.
Macron, who received the most support from the French people in the first round of the new presidential election, refused to call russia's actions in the war against Ukraine genocide and called the russians and Ukrainians brothers. At the same time, the presidents of Poland and the United States are convinced that President Putin is deliberately eliminating the Ukrainian nation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine answered Macron's words emphasizing that Ukraine and russia were close due to historical circumstances, but the "brotherhood of nations" is fiction. "Ukraine and russia are historically close for objective reasons, but the myth of the two related peoples of russia and Ukraine began to crumble after the occupation of Crimea and aggression in Donbas in 2014. Furthermore, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oleh Nikolenko, emphasized that after mass crimes and murders committed by the russian military in Ukraine, no one has a moral right to talk about "brotherhood."
