According to estimates by the Ukrainian authorities, Russia saved fewer than 60 of the more than 500 crew members of the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet Moskva cruiser, which was destroyed by Ukrainian Neptune missiles.

The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Oleksiy Danilov, reported this in an interview for Ukrainska Pravda.

According to our estimations, how many have died on the Moskva?

“We believe that they saved 58 people. We can not say it for a fact, but preliminary, that is what we think. But they are hiding it. There were 510 people in total on that cruiser,” Danilov said.

He listed one of why the Russian Federation does not provide information on the losses on the Moskva.

“If there is no person, there is no need to bury him, have a ceremony. He is missing in action. That is Russian policies,” the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council noted.

“Many Russians have died there. Where else do we differ? We deeply respect all our men and women who, unfortunately, die in this war. And Russians do not pay any attention to their fallen soldiers; they are like an empty place for them - it's the same with or without them,” Oleksiy Danilov added.

On the night of April 14 in the Black Sea, the flagship of the Russian Federation Black Sea fleet, the Moskva missile cruiser, sank. It was damaged on the evening of April 13 by the Ukrainian Neptune anti-ship cruise missiles. The ship began to burn in Sevastopol Bay.

At the beginning of the war, the Moskva cruiser, together with the patrol ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet Vasily Bykov, demanded the surrender of the defenders of Snake Island. To which they responded with the legendary phrase, "Russian warship, go fuck yourself!"

On April 20, it was reported that the approximate coordinates of the Russian cruiser Moskva on the seabed had been calculated. The remains of the Moskva are in the approximate coordinates of 44°56' N 31°44' E at a depth of 50-60 meters. In particular, this became known due to the abnormal activity of rescue and diving ships of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation 75 km southwest of Cape Tarkhankut, which indicates an operation is being carried out.
