Russia's elimination from the UN Security Council is on time. Serhiy Kyslytsia, the permanent representative of Ukraine, was instructed by the leadership to achieve this.

Other diplomats were also instructed to reduce Russia's presence in any international organizations, Serhiy Kyslytsia, Ukraine's permanent representative to the UN, said in an interview with LB.ua.

"Last week, we managed to make Russia lose in all possible elections at the UN, where it nominated its candidates. Ukraine has been elected instead; Russia has not been elected to the NGO Committee, the UNICEF Executive Office and the UN Executive Office – There is the same with women," he said.

Kyslytsia pointed out that these authorities are not as important as the Security Council but it was a real disaster for a permanent member to lose in the elections. According to the diplomat, many countries that depend on Russia in the Security Council voted against it, realizing that Moscow would take revenge on them.

"The permanent members of the Security Council are still not ready to talk about the elimination of Russia as a permanent member. You can see that the countries of Europe and North America needed 43 days since the start of the war in Ukraine to suspend Russia's rights in the Human Rights Council. What can we tell about the Security Council in this situation? And we have this despite the fact that the General Assembly recognized Russia as an aggressor, "Kyslytsia explained.

To remind, Russia declared itself as the successor to the USSR and in this way became a permanent member of the Security Council. In this case, the state has the right of veto, which it can apply to any resolution.
