British Prime Minister Boris Johnson declared there is a “realistic possibility” that the war in Ukraine would continue until the end of next year. At the same time, he stressed that the president of the rf volodymyr putin will not “grind the Ukrainians”. He made the respective statement during a press conference in India, writes Insider. Answering the question of whether putin still can win and whether the war may continue until the end of 2023, Johnson said “It is sad that it is a realistic possibility”. “Putin has a huge army. He has a complicated political position since he has made a catastrophic mistake. The only option for him now is to continue his effort and use his horrible hard approach led by the artillery trying to defeat the Ukrainians. He is very close to providing the on-land bridge in Mariupol,” believes the British Prime Minister.Mr. Johnson added that regardless of putin’s military advantage, he cannot conquer the spirit of the Ukrainian nation.“It is an evident fact. And on the contrary, what he is doing every day strengthens more and more the will of the Ukrainian people to resist,” said the Prime Minister. Mr. Johnson believes that all negotiations on peace in Ukraine will be no success because of the rf president volodymyr putin. Johnson thinks that dealing with putin is like “having a crocodile seizing your leg with jaws.” According to him, the strategy of the rf president is to try to occupy more of Ukraine’s territory and, possibly, to hold negotiations from the position of strength. Johnsons remarked that “putin has made it clear that he wants to occupy more of Ukraine’s territory and can start an assault on the capital again.” Therefore, the British Prime Minister has called on the world to continue supplying weapons to Ukraine.
