"New York is home to America's largest Ukrainian community, and we stand in solidarity with all those affected, both here and abroad. We are a city of immigrants and are ready to give any necessary support to newcomers with open arms, "Adams said.

All costs will be coordinated by city agencies and Ukrainian NGOs, said Anne Williams-Isa, deputy mayor for health and social services.

"The Ukrainian community has long been a bright part of New York, and we are ready to support our Ukrainian brothers and sisters in this difficult time and will be happy to welcome everyone to New York," she said.
