Employees of the Bureau of Economic Security (BES) exposed the management of one of the mining and processing plants in Ukraine for intentional evasion of income tax of over 10 million UAH. And the court seized 100% of the company's corporate rights and the company's accounts in banks, the BES press center reports.

The investigation established that during 2020-2021 the mentioned enterprise exported extracted titanium-containing raw materials to the enterprises of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, although, according to the documents, it allegedly supplied raw materials to the Austrian company. The value of sold products, according to BES, was deliberately underestimated by a total of over UAH 56 million, which led to budget losses in the form of 

The mining and processing plant director was informed about the suspicion of intentional evasion of income tax.

According to "Ekomichna Pravda," it is LLC "Demurinskyy Mining and Processing Plant." The plant is developing Vovchanske field in the Dnipropetrovsk region. It is registered with the Cypriot offshore company Limpiesa Limited; the end beneficiary is Russian billionaire Mikhail Shelkov (wealth - $1.5 billion).

Shelkov is the deputy chairman of the board of directors of Russia's VSMPO-Avisma, Russia's largest supplier of titanium. In the past, he was the head of one of the daughter companies of Rosoboronexport under the leadership of Sergei Chemezov, a sanctioned oligarch. The latter now heads the giant arms company Rostech.

Ukraine imposed sanctions against Shelkov in the summer of 2021.
