The Government of Canada will provide Ukraine with 500m. Canadian dollars on preferential terms. The loan agreement was signed by the Head of the Ministry of Finance Serhiy Marchenko.
This was reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Finance.
The loan repayment period is 10 years. Currently, Ukraine will use these Funds to finance its priority expenditures.
According to Serhiy Marchenko, the decision of the Canadian Government is not only a timely contribution to maintaining financial stability of Ukraine, but also an assistance that brings Ukraine closer to victory over the Russian aggressor.
France will provide Ukraine with an additional 100m. euros for defense.
Last week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for financial and defense support. It is about 1bn. Canadian dollars and additional 500m. dollars defense support.
The Government of Canada will soon organize several charter flights to Europe for Ukrainian refugees.
