French Defense Minister Florence Parley had a telephone conversation with her Ukrainian colleague Oleksiy Reznikov.
"I had a conversation with my Ukrainian colleague Reznikov. I congratulated the courage and determination of Ukrainians to defend their country. Successes recorded in the north of the country show that these efforts have paid off," she wrote on Twitter.
Parley stressed that France "has been close to Ukrainian people from the very beginning."
"We have invested more than 100m euros in military equipment and worked to allocate 1.5bn euros within the EU to help Ukraine defend itself. This is their right. This is their security. And also ours," she said.
She also said that in response to new requests, France will provide Ukraine with additional military capabilities on top of the already provided amount of 100m euros for equipment.
Earlier France also sent gendarmes to Ukraine for investigation of russia’s war crimes.
