The Presidents of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia Andrzej Duda, Gitanas Nauseda, Egils Levits and Alar Karis during their visit to Ukraine visited the village of Borodyanka in the Kyiv region which was almost utterly destroyed by russian forces.
The Lithuanian President Gitanac Nauseda posted about that in his Twitter.
"Visited Borodyanka today. This is where the dark side of humankind has shown its face. Brutal war crimes committed by the Russian army will not stay unpunished. War criminals must be prosecuted internationally. Stay strong, Ukraine!" – Nauseda wrote.
At the same time, the office of the President of Poland posted a photo of the visit depicting the Presidents of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.
"We saw numerous destructions of houses and infrastructure in the villages of the Kyiv region. Along the roads, there are shot and burnt cars. A lot of them have the word "Children" written on them. I told our partners about numerous crimes which the occupiers committed on Ukrainian soil," – Shmyhal mentioned.
According to him, the parties also discussed the need for imposing massive sanctions that would help to stop the war and the inevitable responsibility for the aggressor.
"The visit of the Presidents of four EU countries to the Kyiv region indicates a strong international coalition in support of Ukraine. And I hope it will persuade those who are in doubt that dealing with russia amounts to financing terrorism and the genocide of Ukrainians," – the Prime Minister noted.
During their visit to Ukraine, the Presidents of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia announced "a strong message about political support and military aid" and were to meet President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Borodyanka of the Bucha district had been occupied by russians since the first days of the war. The enemy was leveling it to the ground by shelling from weapons of different kinds. It was liberated from the invaders on 1 April.
After clearing the territories of the Kyiv region from the occupiers the scale of the atrocities they had been committing against civilians was revealed. Against children, women, elderly people, men – everyone without exceptions. Around 200 people in the small town are missing.
