Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law on 100% state guarantee for household deposits in banks during the war. Three months after the end of martial law, the amount of compensation will be 600 thousand hryvnyas, i.e., it will be three times higher than the current 200 thousand hryvnyas.
This was announced by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Finance Committee Danylo Hetmantsev.
In addition, the law provides resolving the problem of debt restructuring of the Deposit Guarantee Fund of individuals to the Ministry of Finance.
“The law shall enter into force on the day following the day of its publication, except of the provisions on the amount of deposit reimbursement of at least UAH 600,000, which shall enter into force three months after the date of termination or abolition of martial law in Ukraine.” Hetmantsev mentioned.
