The World Bank is preparing a 1.5bln dollars support package for Ukraine, according to Reuters.
World Bank President David Malpass said that the package includes a 1bln dollars payment from the development lender's fund for the poorest countries.
Malpass added that on 11 April the package of 1bln dollars in International Development Association (IDA) aid was enabled together with a 100mln dollars IDA payment to Moldova.
The World Bank President added that the bank's support was helping Ukraine provide critical services, including paying wages for hospital workers, pensions, and social programs. The aid comes on top of about 923mln dollars in fast-disbursing financing approved by the World Bank in March.
Earlier the First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Kateryna Rozhkova said in an interview with LB.ua that the World Bank declared that works on the complex program for Ukraine of 3 bln dollars. But within its limits, Ukraine already received about 300mln dollars.
As reported on 14 March, the World Bank will provide Ukraine with an additional 200mln dollars. The money should go to support social services for vulnerable groups.
