Russian assets and Western assistance: Kubrakov explained sources of 100bn dollars for reconstruction

Currently, the reconstruction of Ukraine requires 100bn dollars. Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov announced this figure in an interview for "ICTV Facts".

Kubrakov sees a way out in two sources of funds to contribute to the Ukrainian budget. The first source is arrested assets of the russian federation, for instance, arrested assets of the Central Bank of russia and russian companies.

"We can see these statistics - there are arrested 20bn dollars in one country, 30bn - in the other one, 8bn, 10bn, 12 bn - in the other ones. It must be the main source. Besides, speaking about the total sum of arrested assets, it approximately coincides with the estimation of the Kyiv economy school and other institutions dealing with the war damages to our country, that is the sum of 100bn dollars", - the head of the Ministry of Infrastructure noted.

The second source is assistance from Ukrainian partners.

"We hear about it on the level of the European Commission official statements, the official statements of our partners from Great Britain, the USA, and Canada - that there will be for sure a so-called recovery-plan of Ukraine including the redevelopment of our infrastructure, our cities, our economy. And it will also allow funding for all of this", - Kubrakov explained.

Earlier, the minister of infrastructure, having visited the Kharkiv region, noted there were planned emergency main road repairs in the direction where repairs weren't completed under the Ukrainian president's program "Large Construction" in previous years.
