On the night of 21 August, Russian troops attacked the Transcarpathian Region and struck a facility in Mukachevo. People were injured. Russia probably targeted the area with Kalibr missiles. At 13:50, rescuers reported that they had localised a fire covering an area of 7,000 square metres. The number of victims has preliminarily increased to 16 people.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service, Mukachevo City Council, National Police, and Head of the Regional Military Administration Myroslav Biletskyy.
‘This time, the enemy struck one of the enterprises in the Mukachevo district with cruise missiles. As a result of the strike, storage facilities were destroyed and a fire broke out,’ Biletskyy wrote in a telegram.
The police reported that 15 people are currently known to have been injured as a result of the shelling. One of the victims is in serious condition. The youngest of the injured is 22 years old, the oldest is 63.

As of 7:00 a.m., the rescue operation was still ongoing. At that time, it was known that twelve people had suffered injuries of varying severity, and all had been provided with the necessary assistance. Ten people were taken to St. Martin's Hospital by ambulance, and two more victims sought help on their own. Five patients were hospitalised, one of whom was transferred to the regional hospital.
The Mukachevo City Council urged residents to keep their windows tightly closed and not to go outside unless absolutely necessary.
Later, Biletskyy said that two Kalibr missiles hit the factory, which manufactured household appliances, at 04:40. The injured are factory workers. Two are in serious condition. Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha said that the factory is a large American electronics manufacturer. Prime Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko specified that the FLEX factory, which manufactures household electronics, including coffee machines, was hit.
In addition to the attack in Mukachevo, a UAV, presumably a Shahed, was recorded falling in the village of Lypovets in the Khust district.

According to preliminary data, there are no victims. A farm building was damaged, windows in a residential building were broken, and a power line was damaged.
All relevant services have been dispatched to the scene.
