On the morning of 21 August, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Russian army had set one of its insane anti-records that night: they had attacked civilian infrastructure, residential buildings and Ukrainian citizens.
“They fired several cruise missiles at an American enterprise in Transcarpathian Region. It was an ordinary civilian enterprise with American investment. They produced such everyday items as coffee machines. And this is also a target for the Russians. Very telling. They are still putting out the fire at the enterprise,” Zelenskyy said.
He noted that as of now, 15 people are known to have been affected by this strike. All of them have been provided with the necessary assistance.
Rescue workers are also operating in many other Regions, from Zaporizhzhya to Volyn. In total, 574 strike drones and 40 missiles were used against Ukraine overnight. A significant number were shot down, though not all.
“And the Russians carried out this attack as if nothing had changed at all. As if there were no efforts by the world to stop this war. A response to this is needed. So far, there has been no signal from Moscow that they are really going to engage in meaningful negotiations and end this war. Pressure is needed. Strong sanctions, strong tariffs. Thank you to everyone who is helping!” the president urged.
