The United States has prepared a new $33 billion support package for Ukraine. In particular, more than 20 billion can be addressed for defense. More than $8 billion is planned for economic support. Another $3 billion will be spent on humanitarian aid.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an appeal on the evening of April 28.
"This is a very important step for the United States. And I am grateful for it to the American people and to President Biden personally. I hope that the Congress will quickly support this request for assistance to our country," - Zelenskyy said.
According to him, President Biden rightly said that this step is not cheap. But the negative consequences for the whole world from russian aggression against Ukraine and against democracy are so large so that in comparison this support of the United States is necessary.
"Together, we can definitely stop russian aggression and reliably protect freedom in Europe," - the President of Ukraine stressed.
The Head of State added that together with the allies, Ukraine is also working to direct the blocked assets of russian sanctioned persons and the russian state to compensate Ukraine for this war and to restore normal life.
