The funds will go to defense and demining, humanitarian and medical care and reconstruction of the state.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the launch of the United24 initiative. Its first component is an online platform to raise funds to support the state.

Other projects and programs will join it soon, the president said in a video address.

"Only together do we have the potential to stop the war russia has waged, to restore what it has destroyed," he said.

The fundraising platform is only a part of the United24 global initiative. You can donate in one click from any country in the world. The funds will help cover the armed forces and civilians’ needs, will be spent on rebuilding the state.

Now the funds are divided between three areas:

  • Defense and demining

  • Humanitarian and medical care

  • Reconstruction of Ukraine

All funds are transferred to the accounts of the National Bank of Ukraineand assigned to the relevant ministries: the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine. Reporting will be updated daily.

"Every donation is important for victory. Today Ukraine is fighting not only for its freedom, but for the freedom of the entire democratic world. We will never forget your contribution to Ukraine's victory," he said.

On March 26, the Government of Canada and the European Commission launched the global Stand up for Ukraine program at the request of the President of Ukraine. This program mobilizes governments, companies and citizens to raise financial aid for Ukraine.

During the marathon on April 9, 9.1 billion euros were raised. Another billion euros in support of Ukraine was added by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The project involved European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Polish President Andrzej Duda, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
