As of May 5, more than 629 children were injured as a result of the Russian aggression in Ukraine.
This was reported in the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
According to official data, 221 children died and more than 408 were injured.
"These figures are not final, as we keep gathering statistics in active hostilities areas, temporarily occupied and liberated territories," the statement says.
On May 3, as a result of russian occupiers’ attack on the Velykyi Kut village, Nikolaev oblast, a 9-year-old girl was wounded.
As a result of daily bombings and shelling by the russian armed forces, 1,584 educational institutions were damaged. 118 of them were completely destroyed.
In the village of Shybyne, Kiev oblast, the body of a 10-year-old girl was found. She died of shrapnel wounds because her house was hit by shelling.
