As of the morning of May 5, 223 children were killed and 408 wounded in the armed aggression of the russian federation in Ukraine, the office of the Attorney General reported.
The most affected children were in Donetsk region - 139, Kyiv region - 116, Kharkiv region - 95, Chernihiv region - 68, Kherson region - 46, Mykolaiv region - 44, Luhansk region - 37, Zaporizhia region - 27, Sumy region - 17, Kyiv city - 16, Zhytomyr region - 15.
On May 5, a 15-year-old volunteer boy who helped feed and evacuate animals was killed by occupiers’ shelling of the Feldman Ecopark regional landscape park in the village of Lisne, Kharkiv district, Kharkiv region.
Also, on May 5, it became known that on April 23, a 17-year-old boy died due to the bombing of the Novoselivka village in Pokrovskyy district, Donetsk region.
As a result of the Russian armed forces' daily bombings and shelling of Ukrainian towns and villages, 1,607 educational institutions were damaged. At the same time, 121 of them were completely destroyed.
According to Ombudsman Liudmila Denisova, 1,889 Ukrainian children have been reported missing since the beginning of the war.
