Russian forces have entirely destroyed the city Popasna in the Luhansk region but still are not capable to capture it. They are trying to move toward Severodonetsk. Also, the fighting is going on in Voyevodivka, as the Luhansk Regional Military Administration Serhiy Haidai reported.
"Russists are trying to break through in Rubizhne and Popasna. Street fighting is going on, the cities are under constant fire. New hotspots are Borovenky and Voyevodivka (a village on the outskirts of Severodonets). In the latter one, the situation is unstable, the sides keep recapturing the village from one another. Ukrainian forces repulsed the last attack and are currently holding their positions," – he wrote on his Telegram channel.
Haidai emphasized that after the victory over occupiers each and every building in Popasna will have to be reconstructed.
"In general, it's impossible to assess the damage caused by the enemy's strikes as the shellings are still going on so we have new destructions every day.
The most damaged settlements are Popasna, Rubizhne, Novotoshkivske, occupied – the destruction level amounts to 90 percent," – the RMA's head added.
Russians keep attacking the Luhansk region. Yesterday the enemy carried out seven artillery shellings at Severodonetsk and seven more – on the Popasna and Hirske communities, four shellings were aimed at Lysychansk.
