President of russia Volodymyr Putin may declare the annexation of the occupied territories of Ukraine. That concerns the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and partially Zaporizhzhia regions, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) head's advisor Vadym Denysenko stated on the air of the TV marathon as cited by "Censor.NET".

According to him, two parties in the Kremlin are currently discussing the necessity to publicly declare the annexation of the occupied Ukrainian territories.

"One party insists that even on 9 May they should announce the annexation of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions and even of the Kherson region and the districts that are currently occupied in the Zaporizhzhia region. The other states that in the case of such annexation russia will have no leverage on the next negotiating processes," – Denysenko mentioned.

"In fact, those days will decide whether Putin will make a statement that after rf's tasks are performed he will join these territories to the rf… There are no chances that he gains any serious achievements by 9 May. In my opinion, it's 51 to 49 [percent – tr.] that he listens to the first party," – the MIA head's advisor explained.

Great Britain's Secretary of State for Defence Ben Wallace has stated previously that russia might use 9 May's celebrations to announce mass mobilization of reservists to the war against Ukraine.
