The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Borys Johnson the issues of defense assistance for Ukraine, as well as joint international legal measures.

Zelensky wrote about this on Twitter.

“I am in constant contact with Prime Minister Boris Johnson. I thanked him today for addressing the Verkhovna Rada. They also discussed future joint international legal events and developments. They touched upon some issues of Ukraine's defense support”, the President wrote.

The statement, published on the website of the British government, states that the interlocutors discussed the course of events in Ukraine on the background of russia's military aggression and the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In particular, they discussed the provision of long-range weapons to prevent the shelling of civilians.

Johnson and Zelensky agreed to hold another telephone conversation in the coming days.

We are reminding, that on May 3, Johnson delivered a video speech in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

On April 9, Johnson visited Kyiv. He said Britain would provide Ukraine with a new package of financial and military assistance. Britain will hand over another 100 million pounds of weapons to Ukraine, including Starstreak anti-aircraft systems.

Johnson and Zelensky walked around Kyiv - they walked along Khreshchatyk, Independence Square, Heroiv Nebesnoyi Sotni Alley.
