Great Britain's government announced adding russian steel manufacturing Evraz plc to the sanctions list, its press service reported.

"The government of Great Britain announced imposing sanctions against Evraz plc. The steel manufacturing and mining company works in industries that have strategic value for russian government," – the press release on the decision reads.

In particular, the company produces 28 percent of all railway wheels and 97 percent of railway tracks in Russia. British authorities point out that "Evraz" operations are "vital since Russia uses railway for its major military supplies and troops transferring to the frontline in Ukraine".

Besides, the main activity of the "Evraz" holding takes place in the rf where the company is one of the biggest employers. So the sanctions, as the British government is convinced, will have an even bigger impact on Putin's financial reserves and the locked russian economy thus supporting Ukraine's fight against russian aggressors.

Great Britain announced on 4 May new sanctions against russia, its propagandists, and media.
