In April russia received 133.1bn rubles less from oil and gas revenues, the Ministry of Finance of russia informed on Friday, April 6, reports Deutsche Welle.
The Ministry had earlier prognosed that by April russian budget would receive additional oil and gas revenues in the amount of 798.4bn rubles. Considering the revenues that haven`t been received, russia earned more than 665bn rubles on oil and gas sales in the last month.
Russian Ministry of Finance stated that "expected amount of additional oil and gas revenues to the federal budget, associated with actual oil prices exceeding the basic level, is prognosed in May in the amount of 414bn rubles".
In March russian budget didn`t receive more than 300bn rubles from oil and gas sales.
Since April 1 russia has been demanding from "unfriendly countries", namely those that have implemented sanctions against it because of the war against Ukraine, to pay for gas supply in russian rubles. Foreign consumers have to open an account in Gazprombank for this. At the end of April, after Poland's and Bulgaria`s refusals to pay for gas in rubles, Gazprom stopped gas supply to these countries.
After russian invasion of Ukraine, the USA implemented embargo on import of russia oil and gas. The sixth package of EU sanctions that is being prepared now provides a step-by-step embargo on russian oil. Since the beginning of war Brent oil has been trading for more than 100 dollars per barrel and now costs 133.33 dollars. On March 7 gas price in Europe rose to 3892 for 1000 m3, which is the historical maximum. On May 6 gas is sold for more than 1160 dollars for 1000 m3.
