Tomorrow, May 8, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will take part in a virtual meeting of G7 leaders, where they will discuss russia's attack on Ukraine, - announced by White House Spokeswoman Jen Psaki at the briefing.

"On Sunday morning, the president [Biden] will take part in a virtual meeting of G7 leaders chaired by German Chancellor Scholz. Ukrainian President Zelensky will join the leaders. They will discuss the latest events in russia's war against Ukraine and the global consequences of Putin's war, demostrating support for Ukraine and the future of Ukraine, as well as the preservation of the G7 unity and our collective response, including the increase of our unprecedented sanctions to impose serious costs on Putin's war, "she said.

The date of the meeting was chosen not occasionally, the spokeswoman said.

"I think we should not forget… this meeting of the G7 will take place on the day before the Victory Day in russia, which was certainly designed by President Putin, wanting to celebrate this day as the day of victory over Ukraine. Of course, this is not the case. Although he expected to march through the streets of Kyiv, this will surely not happen,” - Psaki said.

Jen Psaki added that Sunday's meeting is an opportunity to show not only the unity of the West in the face of Putin's aggression, but also the fact that unity requires work, effort, blood, sweat and sometimes tears. "And the president is determined to continue to work for the people to be united - for these leaders to be united in their move forward," the White House spokeswoman emphasized.

The next day after the meeting - on Monday, May 9, the president of the USA Joe Biden will sign the Law on the land lease for defense of democracy of Ukraine of 2022.
