"On Sunday morning, the president [Biden] will take part in a virtual meeting of G7 leaders chaired by German Chancellor Scholz. Ukrainian President Zelensky will join the leaders. They will discuss the latest events in russia's war against Ukraine and the global consequences of Putin's war, demostrating support for Ukraine and the future of Ukraine, as well as the preservation of the G7 unity and our collective response, including the increase of our unprecedented sanctions to impose serious costs on Putin's war, "she said.
The date of the meeting was chosen not occasionally, the spokeswoman said.
"I think we should not forget… this meeting of the G7 will take place on the day before the Victory Day in russia, which was certainly designed by President Putin, wanting to celebrate this day as the day of victory over Ukraine. The next day after the meeting - on Monday, May 9, the president of the USA Joe Biden will sign the Law on the land lease for defense of democracy of Ukraine of 2022.
