The President of Moldova Maia Sandu assured that her country is in no danger now, but authorities continue to closely watch the developments. She stated this on May 7 during the joint press-conference with the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda, who came to Kishinev with an official visit, Newsmaker informs.
"Discussed with the President Nausėda situation in Moldova. We are closely watching the developments and are doing everything to preclude destabilization of the situation in our country. We are also in constant contact with our external partners and friends," Sandu said.
The President emphasized that the priority of the authorities is to preserve peace.
"Our analysis and analysis of our partners show that today Moldova is in no danger, but we remain vigilant. The priority of the authorities is to preserve peace, lives, and security of our citizens," Sandu stated.
On May 4, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated that it didn`t see a big threat for Ukraine from Transnistria, but it was closely watching the situation in the unrecognized republic.
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense stated that russia is escalating the situation in the Transnistria region of Moldova to conduct psychological warfare against Ukraine and to disperse forces of the Ukrainian army.
