The Defense Ministry does not yet see a serious threat to Ukraine from Transnistria but is keeping a close eye on the situation in the unrecognized republic.
“I will just say that the situation there is not easy. As of today, we do not see a serious threat to Ukraine from Transnistria, but the General Staff is keeping a close eye on the situation and monitoring what is happening there,” the press officer of the MDU said.
According to his data, there were no significant changes in Transnistria over the past 24 hours, but in general, the situation in the unrecognized republic is complicated.
“Russian units stationed in Transnistria are on full alert. Local armed formations are also in full combat readiness,” Motuzianyk said.
He added that russian propaganda constantly intimidates the population as if there is a threat to Transnistria from Ukraine. They say that Ukrainian drones fly over weapons and ammunition depots.
“All of this is absolutely incorrect,” assured Motuzianyk.
By the way, the Chief Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said today that russia is escalating the situation in the Transnistrian region of Moldova for a psychological attack on Ukraine and to disperse the forces of the Ukrainian army.
