Over the day of 5 May, the troops of the Joint Forces successfully repulsed 11 attacks of the enemy in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as the press service of the Joint Forces Operation reports.
"Thanks to skillful actions and professionalism, our warriors inflicted losses on russian occupiers," – the statement reads.
In particular, Ukrainian defenders destroyed eight tanks, 11 armored combat vehicles, and five automobiles of the enemy.
The air defense units in the Ukrainian Donbas sky shot down seven unmanned aerial vehicles of the "Orlan-10" type.
The United States ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Michael R. Carpenter stated that Washington has "highly credible" information that russia will try to annex the Donetsk and Luhansk regions "approximately in the mid-May". Moscow has similar plans regarding Kherson.
