The enemy continues the offensive in the Eastern Operational Zone in order to establish full control over the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and maintain the land corridor between these territories and the occupied Crimea, - stated in the operational report from the General Staff as of 6 AM, May 6 2022.
The enemy did not take active action in the Volyn and Polissya directions. The units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus are checking the combat readiness of the response forces.
In the Siversk direction, no signs of formation of enemy offensive groups were found. In the border areas of Ukraine, namely in the Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions [of russia] a small number of personnel, weapons and military equipment are kept at positions and bases.
The enemy did not take any active action in the Slobozhansky direction. They continue shelling from Grad MLRS and artillery at the residential areas and suburbs of Kharkiv.
The enemy continues to build up the systems of air defense, logistics and fire damage. They also carry out regrouping and restoration of combat capability of units.
According to the available information, there are up to 300 wounded at the Kupyansk city clinic, which the occupiers arranged a military hospital for their needs.
In order to clarify the positions of our troops and the directions of further advance, the enemy is conducting air reconnaissance.
In the Donetsk and Tavriya directions, the enemy continues to conduct active hostilities.
They are shelling the positions of our troops in the Lyman direction. In the Popasna direction, the main efforts were focused on establishing full control over the settlement of Popasna and resuming the offensive against the settlements of Lyman and Siversk. In the city of Mariupol, the enemy continues the blockade of the Ukrainian defense forces units in the Azovstal plant area. In some areas, with the support of aviation, the enemy resumed assault operations in order to take control of the plant.
No active hostilities in the Severodonetsk, Avdiivka, Kurakhiv, Novopavliv and Zaporizhia areas. They apply shelling in order to restrain the actions of our troops and destroy artillery units.
In the South Bug area, the enemy did not conduct active hostilities, kept the occupied frontiers, strengthened the systems of air defense and electronic warfare. They fired on the positions of our troops. In the north of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions the enemy carries out attacks on the settlements which they left.
The enemy conducted air reconnaissance in the areas of the settlements of Oleksandrivka, Serhiivka, and Volodymyrivka.
"Fifteen air targets have been hit by the Ukrainian air and ground forces over the past 24 hours: fourteen Orlan UAVs and one aircraft," - the General Staff informed.
Eleven enemy attacks have been repulsed in Donetsk and Luhansk regions over the past 24 hours, eight tanks, eleven armored combat vehicles and five enemy vehicles have been destroyed.
