On the night of 4 July, Russia launched a massive attack on the capital with strike drones and missiles. Air defences were actively engaged. After 2 p.m., it became known that the Russian strike had indeed resulted in casualties. During the clearing of the rubble of the destroyed building, a human body was found, according to the State Emergency Service. Tymur Tkachenko added that this occurred in the Svyatoshynskyy district.

The number of wounded as of now is 26 people. The mayor of the capital, Vitaliy Klitschko, reported that at least 12 people were hospitalised.

As of 10 a.m., according to the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, the following consequences are known:

The Solomyanskyy district was the most affected. Residential buildings and shops were damaged in Vidradnyy. In other locations, a private house, schools, cafes, a garage cooperative, and a service station were damaged. Rescuers are fighting fires in the non-residential area.

“More than 30 apartment buildings, five educational institutions, and many private houses have been damaged in the district. Command posts have been set up,” Tkachenko said.

In the Svyatoshynskyy district, there is damage at least at six locations. At least ten apartment buildings have been affected. The most damage is on Lesya Kurbasa Street. Rescuers extinguished burning cars. At one location, the second and third floors of a 14-storey residential building were damaged.

The Dniprovskyy district was also affected. There was minor damage in several locations, and experts found parts of Russian drones near a lyceum.

In the Darnytskyy district, drone debris was found in an open area.

Two residential buildings were damaged in the Shevchenkivskyy district. A fire also broke out in an open area near a school.

In the Holosiyivskyy district, Russian targets were detected in several locations.

The city authorities reported that in the Svyatoshynskyy district, debris from a Russian UAV fell on the territory of storage facilities, causing a fire. Debris also fell in the courtyard of a 16-storey residential building, causing cars to catch fire. A fire broke out in the private sector as a result of falling debris.

In the Darnytskyy district, debris fell in several places in open areas. There were no detonations or fires.

In the Shevchenkivskyy district, debris damaged an 8-storey residential building, causing a fire on the first floor. There was also a fire in the private sector.

In the Holosiyivskyy district, debris fell on a medical facility.

According to Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, there is a high concentration of combustion products in the air due to the fires, so the KCMA asks people to close their windows after curfew and return home.

Among the damaged buildings are several branches of Nova Poshta, as well as the warehouse of the publishing house and online bookstore Nash Format.

‘The blast wave and debris significantly damaged the facade of the building: all windows were broken, the ceiling was damaged, part of the walls collapsed, and there is destruction inside the warehouse and office. According to the Air Force, the capital was the main target of the attack. In total, the Russian military fired 550 missiles and drones at Ukraine.
