On May 17, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will hold talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron, - announced by Deputy Head of the President's Office Andriy Sybiga on the air of the telethon #UArazom.

"Today, the president has two important talks scheduled at the initiative of our partners. These are talks with Chancellor Scholz and President Macron. These talks will take place during the day," Sybiga said.

He added that this week will be marked by significant financial events in terms of decision-making by partners and international organizations for Ukraine. Yesterday the President had a conversation with the Head of the IMF Kristalina Georgieva about financial support for Ukraine.

"This is understandable, we have a budget deficit of $5 billion today… Our partners understand this, and there is a high probability that by the end of the week there will be important decisions on financial support for 3-4 months, based on Ukraine's stated needs and deficit," Sybiga commented.

According to him, it is about supporting the Ukrainian economy, which suffers from russian aggression.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal stated that Ukraine needs $5 billion a month from partner assistance to meet all social and humanitarian obligations.

The International Monetary Fund predicts that due to the war waged by russia, Ukraine's state budget deficit in 2022 will increase to 17.8% of GDP.
