As a result of hostilities, Mariupol is on the verge of epidemic and environmental catastrophes. The deadly poison can get into the city's water supply system.

The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmyla Denisova reported this on the Telegram.

"During almost three months of siege and occupation of the city, residents buried relatives and neighbors killed by the racists in the yards of their houses near the communications of water supply and sewerage," Denisova wrote.

After the damaged water supply systems re-launch, the water came to the surface and washed away the natural burials. Currently, there is a high risk of cadaveric poison, bacteria, micro bacteria, tuberculosis, and other pathogens entering the water supply system, underground springs, rivers, and the sea. At the same time, water mixes with sewage, making it inappropriate for consumption.

"In addition, the russian invaders have turned the city into a garbage dump because household garbage has not been removed for two months. It is pilled near houses," the ombudswoman added.

Flooded waste also increases the number of bacteria entering groundwater, rivers, and the sea.

"Also, due to broken missiles and air bombs, the soil and groundwater in the city are contaminated with chemicals and heavy metals, which leads to the accumulation of carcinogenic garbage, which is dangerous to humans and the environment. This threatens mass poisoning and epidemics of infectious diseases not only in Ukraine but also abroad," Denisova said.

In Mariupol, the russian occupiers introduced one-time passes to travel around the city, for which people must register in the queue.

The occupiers are also rotating at checkpoints around the city in the direction of Zaporizhzhia. They replace local collaborators with the servicemen from the russian guard and Kadyrovites.
