Russia's mission now is to encircle the army in the east of Ukraine and reach the borders of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. The enemy adjusts its plans every month, Representative of The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine Vadym Skibitskii informed in the interview for Radio Svoboda.
Putin won't abandon his plans and the active hostilities are likely to drag on till the end of the year.
"This war will drag on. How long the active phase will take, whether it will be September or October, or it will be the end of the year depends on our strength, the condition of our armed forces, and the assistance we get", - Skibitskii noted.
September 11 in the russian federation is the only ballot day and a possible referendum in the occupied territories is linked to this date. Putin will turn 70 on October 7 and everyone will talk about the army's desire to make him "a present". The intelligence officer also adds that Putin plans to rule russia till his death, and he abandoned the scenario with his disciple.
The enemy's army is expanding their powerful groupment in the occupied territories which tells about their plans to remain in the south of Ukraine for long. The groupment includes land, air, and naval components.
Since the beginning of May, the occupiers' army has started to strengthen its defenses. They are preparing corresponding fortified constructions, there are not being built one or two defense lines, but three lines. It tells us about the russian federation's desire to remain for long," - the HUR's representative noted.
According to intelligence data, the russians used 60-70% of their high-precision weapon arsenal, so they removed from storage their Soviet missiles. The usage tactics also have changed: earlier the enemy launched 2-4 missiles against our one object, but now the target is precisely chosen, and 8-12 missiles of different types are launched.
Executive of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov said in an interview this month that a crucial moment in the war with russia will come in August as all weapons from the western partners will be in the Ukrainian military units and will start to be actively used.
