Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, Iryna Vereshchuk, addressed teachers who found themselves in the occupied territories.
She posted on Telegram that there would be no normal life in the temporarily occupied municipalities until they joined free Ukraine. In addition to legal problems, there is a threat that the temporarily occupied territories may become a war zone.
As for teachers, especially young ones, the wrong decision can ruin their professional life forever. Therefore, I appeal to teachers of educational institutions of all levels in the temporarily occupied territories: do not work for the occupiers. Just move to the territory controlled by the Government of Ukraine. You will have a job here. If you work for the occupiers, you may avoid legal responsibility. But this will end your career as a teacher," - she said.
Vereshchuk also urged parents not to take their children to educational institutions run by russians.
"Move to the regions controlled by Ukraine. I know it's hard. I understand it is very difficult to be far from home, work, and friends. But the future is here with us, not there with them. A little patience and everything will be fine. We will survive this. When it is over, children will be grateful," - the minister emphasized.
As of 4 May 2022, about 1,000 schools remain under occupation. The principals of most educational institutions do not cooperate with the invaders.
