Zelenskyy rolls out sanctions against putin - decree

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree imposing sanctions on russian president vladimir putin.

Decree №400/2022 is posted on the website of the Office of the President.

"In accordance with Article 107 of the Constitution of Ukraine, I decide to put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine of June 9, 2022 "On the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)," the document reads.

These are the following sanctions:

  • blocking of assets and property;

  • prevention of capital outflows outside Ukraine;

  • ban on entry into territorial waters and airspace;

  • ban on securities transactions; refusal to issue visas;

  • deprivation of state awards of Ukraine, etc.

Control over the implementation of the decision of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, enacted by decree, is entrusted to the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council.

The decree shall enter into force on the day of its publication.

It will be recalled that on May 6, McFaul-Yermak's international working group on sanctions against Russia presented a Roadmap for individual restrictive measures.
