Today it became known that Mykola Rachok, a journalist of the InfoCar magazine, was killed in action, the parliamentary committee on the freedom of speech.
"Mykola Rachok has defended Ukraine from the beginning of the full-scale war. According to the editor-in-chief of the publication, during these five months war patriotism, motivation and strength of spirit made a warrior out of Mykola", the parliamentary committee said.
"From the first days of the great war, Kolya went to defend the country. He was too bright, too intelligent, without any combat experience, without any particular physique, without a military specialty. But no-one was surprised because they knew Kolya, they knew that he could not but defend Ukraine. No wonder he immediately got a playful call sign 'Khlopchyk' (Boy)," the editor-in-chief of the publication, Pavlo Kashchuk, said on Facebook.
The 58th Brigade, in which Rachok served, engaged the numerous Liga detachment of the Wagner PMC.
"The battle was not easy, but the enemy was completely destroyed. The breakthrough was stopped. Corpses of 'elite' special forces are lying around the positions in heaps. It was in the news. However, this victory came at a cost," Kashchuk said.
Thirty-two journalists have been killed since the start of Russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine.
