Ukrainian Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar has said that the Armed Forces are gaining a foothold in liberated territories and are preparing for a new offensive.

"If we talk in general about the situation at the fronts, it can be described as preparation for the liberation of our territories and consolidation in the territories that have already been liberated," she said on the air of the UArazom telethon.

He added that Russia is trying to actively advance in the Donetsk sector. This week the epicentre is in Bakhmut and Soledar, where Russians can conduct dozens of attacks per day.

 "There is a mutual movement of both sides. If the enemy manages to advance somewhere, there is an instant reaction from the Ukrainian defence forces," said Malyar.

Over over the last day the Defence Forces repelled Russian attacks near Makiyivka, Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk Region and Verkhnyokamyanske, Spirne, Bakhmut, Mayorsk, Pervomayske, Novomykhaylivka, Vodyane, Pavlivka and Prechystivka in Donetsk Region.
