Fierce battles are taking place for every 100 meters of territory near Svatove and Kreminna in Luhansk Region, with the Ukrainian military steadily advancing, the head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Serhiy Hayday, has said on Facebook.
"The occupiers are trying to restrain the Ukrainian army with all their might, however, they understand that they will not succeed. Therefore, they are building the second line of defence near Starobilsk. In Bilohorivka our military are holding the defence. The village has been completely destroyed by the Russians," he stressed. He also noted that Russian troops are shelling the de-occupied settlements of Luhansk Region with S-300 missiles.
On 1 December, Hayday noted that Ukrainian troops are slowly advancing in Luhansk Region from Kharkiv Region. Thus, there are only a few kilometers left to Kreminna.
According to him, the most combat-ready Russian units are located near Starobilsk. In particular, some paratroopers were redeployed from the Kherson area.
