The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to merge the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Ministry for the Development of Communities and Territories at its meeting on 2 December, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said.
According to him, such a step should strengthen "management capabilities" and add "greater efficiency to the planning and implementation of recovery programmes".
According to the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in parliament, Taras Melnychuk, the Ministry of Infrastructure has now been renamed the Ministry for the Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine.
"The Ministry for the Development of Communities and Territories was reorganized by joining the Ministry for the Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine," Melnychuk said on Telegram.
On 1 December, parliament appointed Oleksandr Kubrakov new deputy prime minister, who will also be in charge of the renamed ministries.
