The accumulation of troops continues in Belarus, but there is currently no threat of a second offensive from the north, the Joint Forces Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has said.
"Today the situation in the Northern Operational Area is under control. But the accumulation of the Union group of troops continues on the territory of Belarus," said the commander of the Joint Forces, Serhiy Nayev.
The Ukrainian military are constantly monitoring the situation and preparing an adequate response.
According to Nayev, in the event of an increase in the military threat, depending on its quantitative and qualitative composition, the assistance of additional forces and means is provided, with which the General Staff of the Armed Forces will strengthen this direction.
The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine said recently that there was no sign of a powerful offensive group being built in Belarus, which would be similar to the one deployed in January-February.
Earlier, the General Staff reported that the Russians are preparing to redeploy some units from Belarus to the occupied territories of Ukraine.
