The UK will provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with Sea King helicopters as part of its continued support, the Ministry of Defence has tweeted.

"The Royal Navy has delivered Sea King training to 10 crews of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, enhancing their search and rescue capabilities," it added.

The Sea King is a British licensed modification of the American helicopter of the same name, also known as the Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King.

These helicopters are also popular with civilian service and foreign military and are still in service in many countries around the world. In addition to the UAS, the Sea King was built by Agusta in Italy under license, Mitsubishi in Japan and Westland in the UK under the name Westland Sea King.
