The eighth meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defence has begun at the Ramstein Air Base in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, Ukrinform reports.
"We, the 50 states, are determined to support Ukraine as long as it takes…Putin didn't count on the courage of the Ukrainian people ... and us. This is a crucial moment for Ukraine and the whole world," said the meeting's chairman, U.S. Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin, as he opened it.
The meeting is attended by defence ministers from about 50 countries, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley, and Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov.
The participants honoured the memory of the helicopter crash victims in Brovary.
Earlier, it was reported that at today's meeting, the United States would encourage NATO partners to provide Ukraine with additional air defenсe systems and armoured vehicles.
