Russian special services are preparing another special operation to discredit the military and political leadership of Ukraine, the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has said.
The discrediting campaign will be directed against the chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhiy Shaptala, the chief of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, and the acting chief of the National Police, Ivan Vyhovskyy, and others.
In particular, the campaign will involve the "leaks" of fabricated materials to Ukrainian and international media.
According to intelligence, the goal of this psy-op is to sow uncertainty in Ukraine's defence capabilities among citizens and international partners.
According to the Russian intelligence services, this should cause political instability in the country and reduce the confidence in Ukraine on the part of the international anti-Putin coalition.
Earlier, Ukrainian intelligence warned that Russia is trying to use Ukrainian journalists to conduct information and psychological operations. It warned that in the near future, the enemy is expected to launch a comprehensive fake news campaign that will involve the entire spectrum of news media and is aimed at undermining the trust of Ukraine's Western partners.
