An explosion in the town of Dzhankoy in the north of the temporarily occupied Crimea destroyed Russian NK-calibre cruise missiles, the Defence Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) said.
The GUR added that the missiles were destroyed during their transport by rail.
The NK calibre cruise missiles are designed to be launched from surface ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The range of these weapons is over 2,500 kilometres for land targets and over 375 kilometres for sea targets.
The intelligence service noted that such explosions are preparing Ukrainian Crimea for de-occupation.
Radio Liberty reported that the attack damaged a Russian military facility in Crimea.
On the evening of 20 March, explosions were heard in Dzhankoy, temporarily occupied by the Russians, in Crimea. After that, the city suffered a partial blackout.
