Russians damage ammonia pipeline in Kupyansk District, Kharkiv Region (updated)

Russian troops have damaged an ammonia pipeline in Kupyansk District, Kharkiv Region, the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Synyehubov, has said.

According to him, the pipeline was depressurised as a result of enemy strikes.

"We have deployed an emergency response HQ in the region. All relevant services are working on the spot. We will inform you about all the details later," he added.

He urged residents to trust information from official sources only.

Update 22.49. According to Synyehubov, as of this hour, measurements in Kupyansk show that there is no ammonia in the air. 

"According to preliminary reports from experts working on the ground, there is no threat of hazardous substances spreading in the Kupyansk community. Measurements are ongoing in the settlements of Kucherivka, Synkivtsi and Petropavlivka, which are closer to the border with Russia," said the head of Kharkiv Region.
