Ukrainian defenders repelled all 12 Russian attacks in the vicinity of Maryinka. A total of 28 combat engagements took place in the east, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has said.

Over the day, the Defence Forces aviation carried out 10 strikes on the areas where Russian troops were concentrated. During the day, missile and artillery units struck nine command posts, four clusters of manpower, weapons and military equipment, three ammunition depots, an anti-aircraft missile system, 14 artillery units at firing positions and 16 other important targets.

The Russians, for their part, launched 35 missile attacks and 30 air strikes and fired 43 multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian troops' positions and Ukrainian settlements.

In the early hours of 6 June, the Russians attacked Ukraine with 35 missiles launched from six bombers. The Ukrainian Air Force destroyed all missiles.

In Kyiv Region, a polyclinic, private houses and garages, a hostel and more than 20 cars were damaged by falling missile fragments.

In total, Russian troops shelled 144 population centres in Ukraine on 5 June and hit 150 infrastructure facilities.
