At least six civilians were injured by the Russian shelling of Kostyantynivka, Donetsk Region. One heavily injured child did not make it, the head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, has said.
"Among the injured are four children: girls aged five, 11 and 12, and an 11-year-old boy," he added.
The Russians fired cluster munitions from the Smerch MLRS at a local pond where people were resting. This is the kind of weapon used to destroy enemy manpower.
Kyrylenko emphasised that children have no place in the combat zone and called on parents to evacuate them.
