According to the investigation, they did not serve, while one of them received money for it.

Three members of the Kyiv City Council were suspected with evading military service. One assistant of a Kyiv deputy also received suspicion.

The State Bureau of Investigating (SBI) stated that four servicemen of one of the military units of the territorial defence did not report for military service during the year. Instead, they organized a business trip for themselves to the Kyiv Military State Administration, the Bureau reported.

"At the same time, one of the deputies even received financial support from the unit where he allegedly served," the report says.

SBI did not name the councillors, but according to LB.ua sources, one of those who received suspicion is Ihor Khatsevich (Eurosolidarity party). According to insiders, Mykhailo Terentyev (UDAR party), Oleg Levchenko (Eurosolidarity party) and Khatsevich's assistant Oleksiy Shpak were also suspected.

The Prosecutor General's Office reported that the preventive measure is currently being selected. The incriminated article is evasion of military service duties (Part 4 of Article 409 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the Chesno Movement, as of spring 2023, 27 members of the Kyiv City Council were serving in the military.

Among these councillors is Alina Mykhaylova, a combat medic. The Kyiv Council also reported that deputies Oles Malyarevich, Vadym Vasylchuk and Yuriy Fedorenko are serving in the territorial defence battalions and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the east of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Pogrebyskyy, who also went into military service and took part in battles in the south and east of Ukraine, noted that he does not abdicate his parliamentary duties and will continue to work on the development of Kyiv in the future, "Chesno" reported.
