Denise Brown, the permanent coordinator of the UN in Ukraine, came to Odesa to document the consequences of Russia's attack on the historic center of the city.

This was reported by the Odesa City Council in Telegram.

Together with the leadership of the city and region Brown inspected the Transfiguration Cathedral that was damaged by a Russian missile on 23 July.

"This is another obvious violation of international humanitarian law, where civilians and civilian infrastructure, which is obviously destroyed, are not part of the war. Such buildings of cultural heritage site are key to Ukrainian identity and culture," said the permanent UN coordinator.
