Oleksandr Ponomaryov, an MP from the banned OPFL party, has been arrested and charged with treason, the Office of the Prosecutor-General has said.
At prosecutors' request, Kyiv's Pecherskyy district court placed him in custody without bail option.
According to the Skhemy investigative project, the suspect will be held in a pre-trial detention centre for two months, until 21 September. The judge ordered the MP to be taken into custody in the courtroom.
Ponomaryov was served with a notice of suspicion the day before. The investigation found that he voluntarily cooperated with Russia in occupied territories of Zaporizhzhya Region.
The suspect re-registered the enterprises under his control under Russian law and opened accounts in local "branches" of Russian banking institutions. The MP's factories supplied fuel and lubricants for Russian military hardware and provided equipment for the construction of Russian fortifications.
